NOTD: Newspaper Nailart w/ Etude House BL501 + Bobbie Purple Passion
TGIF!
Hello everyone! Since it's the start of weekend, and my very first series just ended yesterday, i will not show you a regular polish swatch, what i have for you today is a well known nail art, it's so easy to do, you can do it on your own nails too!
It's the classic newspaper nail art..
Just to give you an idea on how to do this kind of nail design,
First i applied 2 coats of my base color, and in this case i used ETUDE HOUSE BL501
The code of the polish speaks for itself, it's a light blue creme polish, the base color of this mani was supposed to be a LIGHT GRAY (the color of newspaper) but since i don't have any on my growing NP collection, i settled for this one, and it did great!
For the design transfer, when my base color is completely dried, i prepare newspaper strips and a super small cup containing alcohol, i dipped my painted nail in alcohol and immediately pressed a newspaper strip to transfer the newspaper ink.. ;)
For the top coat (this is very important to seal the newspaper ink transferred on to nails)
Instead of using a clear one, i prefer using Bobbie PURPLE PASSION (if i'am not mistaken, this is a part of their Holo-Prism collection, i will show you swatches very soon )
This helped sealed the design and also achieved the authentic newspaper look. (since i used a l.blue base instead of l.gray)
The finish product.. tahaha..
See that, i told you the top coat i used is a great help to tone down the light blue base. :)
So that's it for today, hope you guys liked this, and i'am also looking forward that you will do this mani on your own nails. :)
Till next time!
XoXo
